<-- The iGuide is a combination navigational tool and University identity marker designed to be placed at the top of each Home page or Web page for each college, department, and unit Web site within the University Web presence. Use of the iGuide will help the University achieve a more cohesive Web presence.

First make sure your Web site's host server has the iGuide distribution folder ("iguides-dist"). If your server doesn't have the iGuide distribution folder available for your use, please ask your Server Administrator to contact IWSS. The maintenance of iGuide is performed by IWSS. If you have problems using the iGuide on your page, please contact us.
Once you have the iGuide distribution folder in place, simply insert an "include" statement (similar to the following below) anywhere after the <BODY> tag in the calling page.
For pages hosted on any campus server, this is what the include statement should look like:
<!--#include virtual="/iguides-dist/red02.html"-->
To place a different style and/or color of iGuide on your page, replace the filename "red02.html" with any one of the other filenames found on the iGuide Styles and Colors page (in order to to see the filename, you must click the "Select" button just below the color you want). Please remember that the iGuide is designed to be centered at the top of the page; centering is built into it.
With the exception of Macintosh servers, the extension to use for all servers on campus currently hosting the iGuide distribution folder is ".shtml." For example, if the page you included the iGuide in was named "index.html," it should be changed to "index.shtml." If you do change the page name to "index.shtml," please contact us to let us know so we can change your link on the Illinois State Web site. If your page is stored on a Macintosh server, the filename remains the same, in other words "index.html."
